Shout Outs
Mark & Jim's wives - for their limitless patience and ability to endure our zany and sometimes
over-the-edge ideas (with minimal rolling of the eyes).
Denise Shaughnessy - the lynch pin - her capacity and desire to make it all work is contagious
and makes it fun for all.
Doris Claeys, Jacci Krebsbach & Joan Brainerd - for the generosity of their time in helping
obtain some great historical photos (come in and you will see what I mean).
Stephen Harding - who turned out to be an investigative reporter. Nonetheless, he was the first.
Grand Ole Creamery, Izzy's, Sebastian Joe's & Sonny's - for setting a high bar and showing
the Twin Cities what they should expect in ice cream shops. Yes, we all love Dairy Queen, but
their product is not ice cream ("soft serve" was created by a chemical research team in Britain
way back in the day - see wikipedia if you really care)
The Jacobson Family and Pine Tree Apple Orchard - who has been growing apples in White
Bear Lake for over 50 years, and has been a family affair since day one. They have the best pies
in town and we consider it an honor to sell their pies at the Scoop. A slice of hot apple pie and a
scoop of premium ice cream - yum!
The Northern Strings Quartet - who played two great shows at the Scoop in December. Great
music and just the right ambiance for the season.
All the nameless people who take pictures of our store, ask detailed questions on pricing,
vendors, etc, and write down voluminous notes on everything we are doing - we must be doing
something right!
It took a lot of energy and a significant amount of help to start up The Village Scoop,
and continues to take a lot of energy as we hold on to our vision. We would like to
thank some important people for all they've done to get us started and on our way.
